About Us

Who are we?

HSAC proudly opened its doors in September 2005 as one of three distinct schools located in Queens High School Complex.

At HSAC, students are prepared for college and acquire the skills they need to be successful in the 21stcentury.  Students explore career and postsecondary options beginning in the ninth grade and learn to reach their own potential.

Students are also given the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology and systems that are infused into our classroom instruction. These tools allow our students to extend their thinking and promote their skills in both literacy and communication. As our school has the flexibility to operate simultaneously in analog and digital settings, students are given a multitude of learning options with Microsoft Teams serving as one of the important components in student learning.  With the background, students have the opportunity to apply these skills to gain Microsoft certification and become experts in communication using online project-based classrooms.

Our Mission

The mission of our school is to engage all students in “minds-on,” student- centered activities. Teachers support students to succeed in challenging learning tasks by providing meaningful feedback and opportunities for self-reflection and problem solving connected to their experiences and the real world.

All community members understand that by knowing every student as an individual we can customize academic, social, and emotional supports through tiered interventions to ensure all learners achieve high expectations in a safe and caring environment.

Our Vision

We will prepare all students for college and career by providing a rigorous curriculum that connects to students’ lives in a safe and supportive environment. Through students' active participation in our instructional program, our students will be able to access the top colleges and careers in the United States today.
